Chelsea appear to have beaten by PSG to the signing of Napoli striker Edinson Cavani.
Chelsea's attempts to sign Cavani appear over after Paris Saint?Germain agreed to pay the striker's £54million release clause.
The London Evening Standard says Chelsea met Cavani's representatives last month and agreed the 26-year-old's wage demands.
However, they have refused to pay Napoli's asking price or to let their midfielder Ramires go the other way in a player-plus-cash deal. It means Chelsea are still looking for a top striker to lead the line next season - and they are running out of options.
