Chelsea scout Piet de Visser admits he was following RacingGenk winger Kevin de Bruyne for two years before his January signing.

The Belgium international joined Chelsea in January before being loaned back to Genk for the remainder of this season.

"I followed him for two years," recalled De Visser. "I've been really impressed by his performances in recent weeks.

"And I'm not saying this because I recommended him to Chelsea. If they did not think he could handle that level, they wouldn't have signed him."
