The Sun says Chelsea have stepped up their chase for Higuain and will meet the player's agent on Wednesday, according to reports.

New boss Maurizio Sarri wants to waste no time in landing his own transfer targets after his appointment was officially revealed on Saturday.

Landing a top centre forward remains a top priority after Alvaro Morata flopped with just 11 league goals in his debut season.

And Higuain, who had a record-breaking season under Sarri when the duo were at Napoli, fits the bill.
