Fernando Torres is determined to force his way into the Chelsea first team after a scoring performance in the 2-0 Capital One Cup win over Swindon Town on Tuesday night.
The Spaniard opened the scoring for the Blues in the 29th minute at the County Ground before supplying a neat assist for Ramires to score a second six minutes later and is now hoping he can bring that form to Jose Mourinho's Premier League line-up.
"It is just that in the last couple of seasons I have been involved more in the cup competitions than in the Premier League and I have scored more goals in the cups than in the league," Torres told Sky Sports.
"Hopefully I will have the chance to play more often in the Premier League and score some more goals.
"We know that the season is long and that we will all have the chance to play in important games. We have got a big squad and we will all be involved.
"Hopefully we keep the hard work high and we are in the manager's plans, because there are 25 players in this squad and it is difficult to play in a great team."
