Chelsea’s Terry to take time off

Under fire Chelsea skipper John Terry will take some time off this week.

As pressure mounts following his affair with former teammate Wayne Bridge’s ex-girlfriend, Terry has been given this weekend off meaning he won’t be on the pitch for Chelsea’s FA Cup clash with Cardiff City.

Terry was also sacked as England captain last week and Blues assistant manager Ray Wilkins said boss Carlo Ancelotti was happy to offer him some time away from the club.

"He will not play this weekend. Carlo is giving him a bit of time off,” Wilkins said.

"He will come back and prepare for our game against Wolves on the 20th.

"They just had a little chat, John and Carlo, and decided that would be the best for all concerned."

Reports suggest Terry is off to Dubai to be his wife, Toni, for the weekend.
