Football Association chairman David Bernstein insists that John Terry has not stated that he is set to come out of England national team retirement .
The Chelsea skipper quit England in September after he was involved in a racial abuse saga with Anton Ferdinand but there have been suggestions that he is eager to again represent the Three Lions.
But Bernstein, who is set to move out of his current role this summer, says Terry has given him no indication that this is the case.
"John Terry always takes his football seriously and therefore I took his retirement seriously. Until I hear to the contrary - he stays retired," he said.
"He's not announced he's coming out of retirement - and if he did the initial decision will be down to the manager."
