England's Youth Player of the Year Dom Solanke was over the moon after accepting his prize at St George's on Tuesday.
The Chelsea striker, 17, landed the youth prize for a brilliant year with the U17s and U18s and to make the award even better, he was able to accept it standing next to Manchester United and England captain Wayne Rooney.
"He told me to just keep going. He's a great role model, especially being the England captain, so to get my award alongside him was an amazing moment," Solanke told TheFA.com.
After receiving the youth POTY, Solanke was asked to train with Roy Hodgson's seniors which capped off a stunning 12 months which included the U17 European Championship title in Malta.
"2014 was quite a successful year for me, especially with England and winning the European Championship," added Solanke.
"We went there believing that we could win it, and we just took each game one-by-one."
