Chelsea's Mourinho plays down 100th Premier League victory

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho notched up his 100th Premier League victory as a manager when his side beat Manchester United 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

The Portuguese became the fastest to reach the milestone, taking just 142 matches, but he insists the win was more important from a team point of view than his individual status.

"More important than anything is the three points today," he told Sky Sports.

"Of course it is nice and 100 victories in the Premier League is obviously one more fantastic thing for my career, but the most important thing is really to win the match.

"It is three important points for us because it now opens a gap between us and Man United and Liverpool and we are still in contact with Arsenal and Manchester City."

Chelsea remain third on the table on 49 points, two behind league leaders Arsenal, and on in arrears of Manchester City in second.
