Chelsea's Mourinho: Man City additions places more pressure on Pellegrini

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes that bringing in four quality players has already heaped pressure on new Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Fernandinho, Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas and Steven Jovetic have all joined the Chilean at City this summer with Mourinho suggesting it only adds to the enormous expectations of managing a big club.

"Manchester City have just bought four important players to improve their fantastic squad," said Mourinho.

"In my first time, there was always pressure on me from people saying: 'You buy this, you spend that, you buy the title.' So I hope now it is on the other side.

"They have bought very well and that doesn't surprise me because they have the money and also the knowledge.

"I know the players they've bought and they are players at the top of their careers, experienced but still young.

"Navas and Negredo are world champions, and European champions, both 27. I know them well from my three years in Spain.

"Jovetic for more than two years is one of the best in Italian football, a kid that has five years of playing in Serie A for Fiorentina at the highest level. Fernandinho is more than that, because he has more experience, a national team player, big experience too.

"They are players without surprises. They are more than ready. If you see their age, their maturity, they are in the perfect moment of their career to go to England, no need for adaptation, no need of work to learn the project."
