Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has made it clear that his side are not being crafted to become a defensive unit.
The Portuguese sent his Blues side out to sit back and defend against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Monday night but he insists that it is not becoming a prerequisite of his players to perform in this negative manner.
"I want Chelsea to go in another direction, that was our plan and what we want for Chelsea's future. I am not building a team for one season, I am building it for a long period," he told Sky Sports.
"There will be some matches where I have to take one step back because of the opponents and play sometimes for a result. Today was the kind of game where it was important for us not to lose."
