Chelsea veteran Frank Lampard has sustained a tear in his calf the club has confirmed.

The 33-year old midfielder had to come off during the first half of Saturday's scoreless draw at Norwich City and will now miss this weekend's FA Cup fourth round clash with West London rivals QPR.

"A scan on the injury Frank Lampard suffered during the game at Norwich on Saturday shows he has a small tear in a calf muscle," read a statement on the Blues' official website.

"The midfielder is unlikely to feature in the FA Cup fourth-round match against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday but is expected to join up with the rest of the squad in Mallorca where they are training this week."
