LA Galaxy star Landon Donovan says he spoke with Frank Lampard regarding the possibility of joining him in MLS.
The 34-year old Chelsea midfielder had emerged as a Designated Player target for the Galaxy in the past few months but opted to remain at Stamford Bridge by signing a one-year contract extension.
During his time of uncertainty, prior to penning with the Blues, Lampard pondered a shift across the Atlantic with Donovan part of the recruitment team hoping to bring him to California.
"We spoke a couple of times. He was still clearly on the deciding phase when we spoke," Donovan told Goal.com.
