Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole looks set to miss out on England's provisional squad for next month's World Cup.

National team boss Fabio Capello will announce his 30-man squad on Tuesday afternoon but Cole's name is expected not to be there.

Alongside Cole will be Manchester City's Gareth Barry who injured his ankle last week and is under a cloud whilst Capello still has to make a decision on whether he will take Fulham striker Bobby Zamora or Sunderland's Darren Bent.

It is believed he will include Tottenham defender Ledley King despite his injury woes whilst it is expected that Liverpool's Jamie Carragher could make a return even though his last international appearance was in 2007.
