Chelsea's Huddersfield loanee Izzy Brown deserves England U21 call

England U21 coach Aidy Boothroyd has called up Chelsea youngster Izzy Brown for the upcoming internationals, and he says that the forward deserves his spot in the squad.

The 20-year-old has undertaken impressive loan spells with Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town this season.

Boothroyd, who took over the job last month, also had nice words about the likes of Sam McQueen (Southampton), Joe Gomez (Liverpool), Solly March (Brighton & Hove Albion) and Cauley Woodrow (Burton Albion, on loan from Fulham).

Boothroyd told TheFA.com: "Izzy did well on loan in Holland (with Vitesse Arnhem), he came back and now he's thriving in the Championship.

"Him and Sam deserve their chance, just like Tammy Abraham deserved his chance when I picked him last year.

"As for Joe, Solly and Cauley, they are three players that have been in the squad before so it will be nice to welcome them back. They all deserve to be here."

The Young Lions will face Germany and Denmark on March 24 and 27 respectively.
