Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien insists that the playing group is not worried about the barren run being experienced by new signing Fernando Torres. The Spaniard has so far failed to break his Chelsea duck since arriving at Stamford Bridge in late January but Essien says nobody at the club is bothered.
"To be honest, we are not concerned," he said. "We know it's going to come and as you can see he has been working really hard and he has the support from everyone.
"It's going to come but we have to be patient and everything will be fine.
"Fernando is one of the best strikers in the world and in Europe at the moment. When he starts scoring I think all the noise about him will stop and it's just a matter of time. He's come to a new club and he needs to settle but with the players that we have, we know he will deliver when he is really settled."
As for the difference in style employed by Torres compared with Didier Drogba, Essien said that the players are learning how Torres moves and is certain they can help him get on the scoresheet very soon.
"Didier and Torres are different kinds of strikers," he added. "Didier's big and with Fernando, sometimes we have to change and adapt to his style of play but Fernando coming in, he is not as big as Didier so we have to change our style.
"We know him really well now and we are going to start feeding him and he will score soon."
