Chelsea star Didier Drogba has revealed he helped make the decision that started him on the bench for Ivory Coast's opening World Cup clash with Portugal.
Drogba was given permission by FIFA to take his place in the match after being fitted with an armguard to protect the problem area where he recently had surgery but decided it be better if he did not start the match against Portugal so he would be fully fit for Sunday's clash with Brazil.
"It was everybody's decision, but yes, my decision to play and say to the manager that if he needed me, I was going to be there," he said.
"I could be ready. We have five days to prepare for this game, so I am there."
