Chelsea striker Didier Drogba has been strongly linked with a shift to the USA to join Major League Soccer. The News of the World suggests that the Ivory Coast international will consider his future at Stamford Bridge in the summer and one of the options he will ponder is moving to MLS, following in the footsteps of former Premier League stars Thierry Henry and Freddie Ljungberg (now with Celtic).
The 33-year old has fallen slightly out of favour at Chelsea since the signing of Fernando Torres in January but managed to score in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Stoke City which may give him some breathing space as strike partner Nicolas Anelka is also feeling the pinch from manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Reports suggest that Drogba has spoken to Henry regarding a move indicating that if he does happen to leave the Blues at the end of the season he could end up at New York Red Bulls with the Frenchman.
MLS officials would be keen to bring the talented goalscorer into the league and it is believed that he has emerged as a top target for North America's domestic competition.
