Chelsea's Cech out for season with shoulder injury

Chelsea will be without Petr Cech for the remainder of the season after he sustained a dislocated shoulder in Tuesday night's Champions League draw with Atletico Madrid.

The Czech Republic goalkeeper was forced off the ground at the Vicente Calderon in the 18th minute after he was knocked heavily to the ground as he punched the ball from underneath his own crossbar.

Chelsea defender David Luiz had pushed Atletico's Raul Garcia who crashed into Cech, leaving him in seemingly massive amounts of pain.

The Blues medical raced to Cech before bringing him off, wrapped in a red blanket, with Australian gloveman Mark Schwarzer his replacement.

Chelsea were dogged in defence as they held out for a 0-0 draw win the semi-final first leg but will now los Cech for the season as confirmed by manager Jose Mourinho.

"Petr Cech's season over. Don't ask me technically, but season over," said Mourinho.
