Chelsea's Cech: Galatasaray fans were loudest I've ever heard

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has labelled the Galatasaray fans as the loudest he has heard in his career.

The Blues drew 1-1 with the Turkish side at the Turk Telekom Arena in Istanbul in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg on Wednesday night and Cech has described the atmosphere as the most intense he has experienced in all his days as a professional footballer.

"The atmosphere was infernal. The loudest I have experienced in my career," he wrote on his personal website petr-cech.com.

"It was an incredible roar. When they started to boo or whistle, you could really feel it. Sometimes they were throwing coins and lighters but they didn't hit me, fortunately.

"The fans really are huge for Galatasaray. It's not easy to play there because they push their team forward enormously."

Fernando Torres scored first for Chelsea inside ten minutes in the draw before Aurelien Chedjou levelled for Galatasaray in the 65th minute.
