Chelsea's Borini impressed by Swansea boss Rodgers

Chelsea youngster Fabio Borini has confirmed that his contract at the club will expire this summer and that he is almost certain to leave.

The 20-year old Italian has been impressive on loan for Championship club Swansea City, scoring six goals in 11 matches, to help them to the promotion playoff against Reading at Wembley Stadium next week.

Borini has confirmed that he will not be returning to Stamford Bridge next season and has revealed that he has been quite taken by Swans boss Brendan Rodgers, indicating a Liberty Stadium stay could be on the cards. "Brendan has been great and helped me a lot. He just got my confidence higher and higher, which is very important for a young player," Borini said.

"I have known him since the first day I came to Chelsea. He was impressed by me and I was impressed by him.

"I knew him a lot from Chelsea and that is the main thing why I came here.

"When the manager knows you already it is a big point to start with. It is a big confidence boost and a big thing for you that a manager is positive about you.

"He is always available and is a good teacher for football and for life."
