Chelsea's Bertrand: Current Southampton position a full club effort

Ryan Bertrand has praised everyone involved at Southampton after their brilliant start to the 2014/15 Premier League season.

The Saints find themselves second on the table, three points behind leaders (and Bertrand's parent club) Chelsea, after winning three and drawing one of their opening five league fixtures.

25-year old left-back Bertrand, who is on a season-long loan from the Blues, admits he has been impressed by the professionalism of Ronald Koeman's squad and feels that it has been a real club effort to produce the start they have.

"I've been amongst a few clubs but I've never been in a group like this. There's a hunger to win, and a real cohesion," Bertrand told Southampton's matchday magazine ahead of Saturday's home clash with QPR.

"It's quite unique. We have quality in depth but there's still an ambition to learn and get better.

"With the current vein of form we're in, we want to keep going because we're starting to breed that winning mentality.

"From the manager to the players to the fans to the people behind the scenes, everyone is really pulling their weight."
