Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka planned to invest in his former club Paris Saint Germain when his playing career was over but recent events looked to have changed his plans.
PSG are expected to announce that popular chairman Charles Villeneuve will leave the club citing a fall-out with the board of directors as the reason.
Anelka was to work closely with Villeneuve at the club when his playing time in the game was up but his future is now unclear.
"Everything was fine, and everything has changed with a letter. The Villeneuve affair is nonsense," he told Les Dessous du Sport.
"Perhaps Charles will come back with new shareholders. But today it's just a waste.
"He was ambitious. I can't believe that his axing can depend on a letter. The directors want to keep the club unstable.
"And the worst is that this affair could have a negative impact on the sporting side.
"In the medium or short-term, I wanted to come back to PSG, not as a player, but to help the club, to do something.
"But when I see how it goes today, I'm just gutted."
