Chelsea have dismissed reports of plans to move for Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. Yesterday's morning press was full of news of Chelsea's plans to replace Carlo Ancelotti with Guardiola.
Before the 1-1 draw with Newcastle United, Chelsea described reports Guardiola was being lined up for Ancelotti's job as "total nonsense", and the Italian insisted after the game that it was news to him.
Chelsea have lost their table leadership to Manchester United after yesterday's result - 24 hours after Frank Arnesen confirmed he was leaving his job as football director and just a week following Ray Wilkins' departure.
