Chelsea boss Avram Grant remains keen on Hamburg midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.

Grant revealed yesterday that he has the green light from Blues owner Roman Abramovich to spend big in the January market.

Van der Vaart is a favourite of Chelsea's football staff, with director Frank Arnesen and assistant coach Henk ten Cate both in agreement with Grant that the Dutch midfielder would be a valuable addition next month.
