Chelsea reveal Malouda a non-starter for Spartak Moscow clash

Florent Malouda has been ruled out of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Spartak Moscow. The Chelsea star misses the game at Stamford Bridge after picking up an ankle injury in last weekend's win over Blackburn.

He joins Frank Lampard on the sidelines with the England international still not ready to return from the groin problem which has forced him to miss the last 11 games.

Portuguese defender Jose Bosingwa is also ruled out of the Spartak game because he is struggling with illness.

Yossi Benayoun remains a long-term absentee for the Blues, but Brazilian midfielder Ramires is fit again for Carlo Ancelotti's side after recovering from an ankle injury.

"Malouda has an ankle problem," confirmed Ancelotti. "He twisted it in the last game and had a scan yesterday. He will have another one today but we don't think it's a big problem.

"It was a little twist. I hope he will be ready for the game at Liverpool.

"Lampard and Benayoun will be out, and Bosingwa has not felt well and did not train, so he's not available.

"We have a lot of games coming up and I don't want to take a risk. We have important games against Liverpool and Fulham and we want to play them with the players in good condition."
