Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists he will give Diego Costa a rest after this weekend.
The Blues travel to Liverpool on Saturday with the Brazilian-born Spanish striker again under a fitness cloud but he will get the chance to get his hamstring injury right according to Mourinho.
The Premier League takes a break next weekend for international fixtures and it appears as though Costa will not be selected by Spain so he can focus on his fitness problems.
"The plan is immediately after the Liverpool match to have a period of complete rest - no training, no treatment, not even a massage on his muscle. Nothing - just let him rest a few days," said Mourinho.
"After that, there is specific work he is doing and we don't have another match to play, so it's very good news for him."
The Blues boss added: "He was protected for the Champions League match (against Maribor on Wednesday) but because the (half-time) result was not good, I couldn't protect him and I had to play him for 45 minutes.
"As a consequence of the work we are doing with him, I think he's ready to start the match against Liverpool.
"Then he will have 15 days to finally rest and work properly. It's fantastic news."
Since joining Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in the summer, 26-year old Costa has scored nine goals in eight Premier League appearances.
