Chelsea reject Barcelona bid for Lampard

Chelsea have reportedly told La Liga giants Barcelona that star midfielder Frank Lampard is not for sale at any price.

According to the Daily Star the Blues snubbed an opening bid of £12million offer from the Catalan side, who are looking for a new central midfielder to provide the ammunition for their attacking quartet of Thierry Henry, Samuel Eto'o, Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho.

Barcelona are now expected to play the waiting game before making another killer offer at the end of the transfer window to land the England ace, who has frequently been linked with a move to the Nou Camp in the past.

Chelsea have so far refused to meet Lampard's wage demands but chief executive Peter Kenyon will meet him next week in Los Angeles to try and thrash out a new deal.
