Chelsea to receive Fabregas boost for Everton clash

Chelsea are set to welcome Cesc Fabregas back into the line-up for this week's meeting with Chelsea.

The Spanish midfielder has missed the past two Premier League matches for the league-leading Blues after sustaining a hamstring issue in the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool on January 27.

As Chelsea prepare to host the Toffees at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, manager Jose Mourinho indicated that Fabregas would be back in action after being rested in the weekend's 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

"I think he plays on Wednesday because on Saturday it was a decision to protect him," he told the club's official website.

"We didn't want to risk two players at the same time.

"We risked Willian and to start two players with a risk is a big gamble."

Former Arsenal captain Fabregas has been in stellar form since joining the Blues from Barcelona in the summer having provided a league-high 15 assists for the west London outfit.
