Chelsea are ready to open new contract talks with Nathaniel Chalobah.

The club plan to begin negotiations in the next few months and are confident the player will agree a new deal to stay at Stamford Bridge, says the London Evening Standard.

Chalobah, 18, who can play in defence or in midfield, has spent this season on loan at Watford, where he has played a major role in helping them challenge for promotion to the Premier League.
