Chelsea are ready to launch a bid for Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor.

Taylor comes off contract at the Toon in June.

The Sunday Express says Chelsea, hit by defensive injuries, are set to make a January move for £8million-rated Taylor.

The defender, on his way back after injury, is also interesting Manchester City and Liverpool.
