Chelsea are ready to make a serious offer for Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic.
The Serbia international has been followed by Chelsea scouts for the past two years and an offer will be tabled this month.
With Alex sidelined, Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti needs to buy a new centre-half to maintain their title hopes, but faces being priced out of a move for Bolton Wanderers' £20 million-rated stopper Gary Cahill.
Instead, he will move for Subotic and hopes to do business for around £15 million.
The defender will have no problem settling in London as the English-speaker was raised in the US.
