Chelsea were in advanced talks with Bayer Leverkusen for Andre Schurrle last night.
DPA says Chelsea are ready to cough up €20 million to sign the Germany international, with manager Jose Mourinho giving his approval to the deal.
Mourinho was in Leverkusen yesterday for Michael Ballack's testimonial.
A Bayer spokesman, when asked if the deal was settled, said last night: "We'll see..."
