Chelsea have made Aston Villa winger Ashley Young a top summer transfer target.

The Mirror says Chelsea - eager to rebuild their ageing squad - have put England winger Young, 23, on their wanted list at the recommendation of caretaker manager Guus Hiddink.

Young, who has four caps, was rewarded with a new four-year contract before Christmas, making him Villa's top earner on £56,000 a week.

Chelsea could offer Young around £70,000 a week, but may have to shell out a fee close to the club-record £30m for Andriy Shevchenko in May 2006.
