Chelsea are pushing Real Madrid to waive the compensation clause for Jose Mourinho.
The Mail on Sunday says though Real president Florentino Perez wants him out and has lined up former Chelsea and current Paris St-Germain manager Carlo Ancelotti to replace him - and key players have threatened to leave if Mourinho is not removed - there is still a compensation clause to be paid to Madrid.
Chelsea will hope that Perez will waive that fee, which could be worth up to £10m, such is his desire to be rid of Mourinho.
