Chelsea push Real Madrid for talks over Marcos Llorente

Chelsea have approached Real Madrid for Marcos Llorente.

The young midfielder, who spent last season on-loan with Alaves, has already told Real coach Zinedine Zidane he wants to leave before next week's deadline falls.

Llorente has attracted enquiries from Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and even Barcelona.

However, Diario Sport says Chelsea have now made a formal approach about opening negotiations over a fee for Llorente.

Llorente is being seen at Chelsea as a replacement for Nemanja Matic, now of Manchester United, and as cover for N'Golo Kante.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has rejected the initial enquiry, but Llorente could force a U-turn should he push to leave in the coming fortnight.
