Chelsea push Monaco to open Ocampos fee talks

Chelsea are chasing AS Monaco winger Lucas Ocampos.

Blues made an attempt for the Argentine before recent signing Willian became available from Anzhi.

The Daily Star Sunday says they have now reestablished contact with the Ligue 1 side, which could lead to the club launching a bid in January.

Any move for the former River Plate star would leaves a massive question mark over the future of Juan Mata at the club, after boss Jose Mourinho reaffirmed he would favour Oscar ahead of the Spanish international.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Barcelona were all interested in signing the 25-year-old during the summer, and the inclusion of winger Ocampos could lead to flurry of renewed interest from the Premier League rivals, as well as Napoli and Juventus.
