Chelsea ponder making Hulk first €100M player

Chelsea are exploring the prospect of paying a world record fee for Porto star Hulk. The Daily Mail says Hulk is believed to be keen to link-up once again with Andre Villas-Boas and would provide much-needed firepower while Didier Drogba is away on Africa Cup of Nations duty and Fernando Torres remains bereft of confidence in front of goal.

Porto slapped the massive buy-out clause on their Brazilian attacker in the summer, but his agent Theodoro Fonseca believes a deal to eclipse the £80m Real Madrid paid for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009 could be possible.

Fonseca said: "Hulk would wholeheartedly agree to work with Andre at Porto or Chelsea, or at any other team because he really likes the way he coaches.

"Andre knows Hulk very well and they have a good relationship. Hulk at Chelsea? Anything is possible.

"His buyout clause is 100m (euros), so his future depends on an agreement between the clubs.

"He feels good in Porto because he is treated well, but there are clubs interested in France, Brazil and everything will depend on his desire."
