Chelsea may cut short the loan of Andreas Christensen at Borussia Monchengladbach.

The London Evening Standard says Blues chiefs are re-assessing their options at the back with Christensen's return being debated.

Christensen, 19, is in the first season of a two-year loan spell at Gladbach and has racked up 25 appearances in all competitions.

Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl wants to hold talks over a permanent deal but Chelsea will reject all offers.

"Our intention is to try and get into talks with Chelsea in the summer," Eberl said.

"Andreas fulfils everything we've seen in him. And we are delighted that we were able to take him on loan without any ifs and buts."
