Juan Mata admits Fernando Torres turned down the chance to take Chelsea's penalty in their FA Cup win over Birmingham City.

Mata ended up missing the spotkick, but Chelsea were already safe 2-0.

"I asked him if he wanted to take it because he won the penalty," said Mata. "He said: 'I'm not the first on the list to shoot'. It was because he forced the penalty and I gave him the chance."
