British Olympic champ Darren Campbell's sprint work with Andriy Shevchenko is being expanded to include several of his Chelsea teammates.
Chelsea boss Avram Grant has given his backing to the athlete's work.
"He can see the effect it has already had on Sheva," said Campbell. "We are talking about a world-class footballer, not a sprinter, and we have to remember that. We are not trying to turn him into an Olympic champion.
"I aim to condition him and it seems to be working. He tells me he feels fitter and sharper. I watched him a lot last season and I knew I could make a difference if I worked with him. He feels 100 per cent better now."
