Chelsea's senior players are appreciative of the approach of manager Rafa Benitez.
The Spaniard's obsession with analysis and attempting to identify weaknesses in the opposition - as Chelsea did with their constant use of crosses against Aston Villa - seems to appeal to the players and the time in Yokohama exposed them to his methods more than before.
"His style is to give players solutions, ways of playing, and the players have responded to that and embraced it really well," a Chelsea source told the Mail on Sunday. "I think the players see they are getting results, which encourages them to keep working and this, in turn, has given them momentum."
