Chelsea players defy AVB with Anelka farewell party

Chelsea players gave Nicolas Anelka a rousing send-off after his club snub over Christmas.

The Daily Mail says Chelsea players furious at Anelka being banned from the club Christmas party organised their own celebrations for the departing French striker on Friday in defiance of manager Andre Villas-Boas, it was reported on Sunday night.

Anelka is leaving Chelsea to join China's Shanghai Shenhua.
