Chelsea players again enjoying it says Lampard

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard believes he and his teammates are again enjoying playing football.

The Blues responded well from a mediocre run recently to hammer Aston Villa 8-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, which allowed them to remain third on the table, and Lampard was delighted with how the playing group performed after a winless run of seven league matches prior to the victory over Sunderland earlier in December.

"We showed great appetite for the game from the first minute," the 34-year old told Sky Sports 1.

"(With) our desire to be quick with the ball, the early goal helped. We are enjoying playing again and we needed that attitude to get us out of the sticky patch we were in."

Fernando Torres opened the scoring in the third minute before David Luiz and Branislav Ivanovic made it a three-goal lead by the break.

Lampard, in his 500th Premier League start, chipped in with his 130th top flight in the 59th minute before Ramires (two goals), Oscar and Eden Hazard rounded out the eight-goal triumph.
