Chelsea pair will have to work to get back into England team

Fabio Capello has warned Chelsea duo Frank Lampard and John Terry that their England spots are not exactly safe.

The Italian tactician oversaw two solid performances from the Three Lions in their opening Euro2012 qualifiers this past week, using various players along the way.

Capello insisted that the form of acting captain Steven Gerrard in central midfield may make life tough for Lampard and indicated that central defensive position that Terry has called his own for some time now is under threat.

"For a long time Steven Gerrard has played for Liverpool as a second forward but this year he is playing as a midfielder," he said.

"In this position Steven is playing fantastic. He is strong in every moment and always good. He wins back the ball and then when he does, his passes are really important passes.

"I also do have central defensive options. (Phil) Jagielka is good, Rio (Ferdinand) is good, Joleon Lescott played very well.

"John Terry is another important player. Lescott played before he was injured. Jagielka was the same.

"It is good for me to know more players and about the confidence of the players. They played very well in both games."
