Chelsea owner Abramovich has concerns of playing style of Atletico boss Simeone

Chelsea are likely to look elsewhere for their new manager with suggestions that Roman Abramovich is not a massive fan of Diego Simeone.

The Atletico Madrid boss has been on a Stamford Bridge shortlist since Jose Mourinho was sacked in December but according to the Daily Mail, Abramovich does not like his playing style.

Argentine Simeone has catapulted Atleti into the top echelon of teams in Spain where they are now a constant threat to powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid, and although the results are evident, it is the game plan that concerns Abramovich.

It is believed that the Chelsea owner sees Simeone as too similar to Mourinho such is his defence-minded style and is searching for a manager with a little more pizzazz.

Juventus boss Max Allegri and Italy manager Antonio Conte are reportedly high on Abramovich's wish-list and are currently leading the race to take over Guus Hiddink's job in the summer.
