Chelsea owner Abramovich considers Benitez as AVB replacement
Rafa Benitez is in the frame to replace Andre Villas-Boas at Chelsea.
The Daily Mail says Benitez is high on Chelsea’s list of candidates to replace Villas-Boas until the end of the season if Roman Abramovich loses patience with his coach.
Villas-Boas will find himself in a precarious position if things go badly at Napoli in the Champions League.
With his team fifth in the Barclays Premier League and facing a tricky FA Cup replay at Birmingham, Villas-Boas’s debut season at Chelsea continues to go from bad to worse.
Former Liverpool, Inter Milan and Valencia boss Benitez is believed to be open-minded and would be immediately available, having not worked since leaving Inter Milan at the end of 2010.

It seem Abramovich is not seeing by leting Guus Hiddink go to Turkey and then Anzhi of recent. If not that man (Hiddink) no coach know chelsea problem & d solution. I bet u a season is enough for Guus Hiddink to have transform chelsea but let him go back to Russia and after d contract extension collapse with Russia FA, Abramovich refuse to bring him back which is one of d costliest mistake he made
Nearly pissed myself laughiong until i saw its in teh daily mail so i pissed my self with relief instead. If this is true Abramovich needs a straight jacket. He lasted just 6 months at Inter because he took the italian and European champions backwards spending all his time whinging about money. He did the same at Liverpool despite spending more than 200 million. He fluked his way to the champions league once. Jose did it twice despite only coahing for 10 seasons or so and has 6 league titles in that time just swallow your pride Russian idiot bring back the ONLY man who will get us going.
