Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich knows he can buy Leonardo Jardim out of his contract at AS Monaco.
Chelsea have made contact with the Portuguese's minders to register their interest in bringing him to London at the end of this season.
Compensation talks with Blues boss Antonio Conte are already underway, with the Italian expected to walk this summer.
Jardim has been tapped by Blues representatives and Abramovich knows he can ferry him away from ASM by matching his €7.5m buyout clause.
The 43 year-old coach's contract with ASM runs to 2020.
