Chelsea are ready to improve the deals of two defensive stalwarts.
The London Evening Standard says Chelsea hope to tie up new deals for Cesar Azpilicueta and Gary Cahill before the season starts.
Both are under contract until 2017 but Chelsea want to reward them for being part of the best defence in the Premier League last season.
Azpilicueta, whose performances knocked Ashley Cole out of the side, will have his £35,000-a-week salary doubled. Cahill, who is on £70,000 a week, will see his weekly wage increase to more than £100,000.
