Chelsea no.2 hails Oscar's 'quality strike'

Chelsea assistant Steve Holland has heaped praise on Oscar for his match-winning strike on Wednesday night.

The Brazilian midfielder hit a lovely 25-yard effort in the 55th minute of his side's eventual 2-1 Capital One Cup third round over Bolton at Stamford Bridge and his contribution was hailed by Holland who stepped into manager Jose Mourinho's after-match press duties.

"It was a real quality strike," Holland said.

"We said at half-time that we were happy with everything but it needed one or two individuals just to produce that little bit more quality to make the difference.

"That moment of quality has made the difference. It's won the game."

Oscar's match-saving goal came after Trotters defender Matt Mills levelled for the visitors with a 31st minute header following Blues debutant Kurt Zouma's 25th-minute opener.

Chelsea will now face League Two club Shrewsbury Town at New Meadow in the fourth round of the league cup in late October.
