Chelsea No2 Roberto di Matteo admits his sacking by West Bromwich Albion still remains a surprise.
Di Matteo was shown the door at West Brom midway through last season.
"Seven months ago, I was sitting eighth in the table,' recalls Di Matteo, 41. "We had a very good Christmas and people were asking, 'Where do you see yourself in two years? In a big job?'
"By February, I was on a beach somewhere and out of a job. I did not see it coming at all. Absolutely not. Funnily enough, I still have a good relationship with the chairman (Jeremy Peace). I have experienced being a manager and one day I would love to do it again.
"I did very well, considering what our target was at the time and the footballing industry recognised that. I guess that's one of the reasons I'm sitting here today. Life somehow turns out how it has to go."
